You'll Be Where the Jobs Are
Mason’s Systems Engineering and Operations Research department, 20 minutes from Washington, D.C., is in the heart of the region with the highest concentration of systems engineers and operations research practitioners in the country.
Our students have continuous contact with businesses and government entities throughout their studies. Networking, internship, summer, and part-time job opportunities are common, and those can all lead to full-time careers. They can be found:
-
At government agencies and with government contractors in downtown D.C., and throughout the Virginia-Maryland metro area.
-
In the Virginia technology corridor, also known as Silicon Valley East.
-
In the health care and research community in and around Bethesda, Maryland.
Many of our faculty perform research or do consulting for government agencies and the contractors who support them. We also have ties through our project courses, our advisory board, and our alumni.
