Securities and Exchange Commission in downtown D.C.

Mason's location near Washington, D.C, as well as the Dulles tech corridor, provides our Systems Engineering and Operations Research students with a variety of internship and career opportunities. We also offer companies and workers in the area easy access to the ability to upgrade their skills through advanced degrees and certificates.

Our students have continuous contact with businesses and government entities throughout their studies. Networking, internship, summer, and part-time job opportunities are common, and those can all lead to full-time careers. They can be found:

  • At government agencies and with government contractors in downtown D.C., and throughout the Virginia-Maryland metro area.

  • In the Virginia technology corridor, also known as Silicon Valley East.

  • In the health care and research community in and around Bethesda, Maryland.

Many of our faculty perform research or do consulting for government agencies and the contractors who support them. We also have ties through our project courses, our advisory board, and our alumni
