Academic Advising

Academic advising is essential to keeping you on schedule to meet your graduation goal. Talk with your advisor at least once a semester to make sure you're taking the classes you need to complete your degree requirements.

• Getting an undergraduate degree might take some strategic planning. You'll need certain math and physics courses as a prerequisite for some. Our BS plans of study will guide you, semester by semester, through the courses you'll need to graduate in four years to gain your undergraduate degree. • Our MS plans of study will keep you on course to earn your degree in the most efficient way possible. Working closely with your faculty advisor will result in the best outcome.
• Patriot Connect (connect.gmu.edu) will be your primary means to schedule appointments and access the support services needed for your success!
• First, visit stellic.gmu.edu to look up your faculty advisor’s name. Second, set up your appointment for advising using Patriot Connect (connect.gmu.edu) with the faculty advisor. Do not set up advising appointments with dept admin Rania Fadlallah or Mike Fee.
• If you are an undeclared student and interested in BS Systems and Industrial Engineering as your major, please make sure to email seor@gmu.edu to check your eligibility to declare the major and to receive advice.
• Non-Mason students, please e-mail seor@gmu.edu to receive advice.
• Contact your faculty advisor only via email over summer.
