Get Ahead with an Accelerated Master's

If you are studying engineering and are interested in getting ahead with an advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or Data Analytics, you need to check out the Accelerated Master's program.

Learn about the world around you, then apply that knowledge to a specialty.

In your first two years, you'll get a basic foundation in mathematics, natural sciences, computing, writing, the humanities, and social sciences. Our program builds on this, with students gaining theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and the ability to apply systems thinking to problems.

When you select an area of specialization, you'll gain technical skills through electives in:

Operations Research

Control Systems

Computer Network Systems

Software-Intensive Systems

Environmental Engineering

Aviation Systems

Data Analytics

Financial Engineering

Transportation Systems

Mechanical Engineering (Design)

Mechanical Engineering (Thermal Fluids)

And if you plan correctly, you can get an accelerated BS/MS in five years.

"When I came across Systems, it seemed perfect — the mixture of the more technical-oriented engineering skill set required and the human-focused project management side of the job, in particular. The incredibly broad range of fields which the skill set can be adapted for seems valuable, as someone with a tendency to get bored with doing the same thing over and over."

— Brandon Baither, SEOR student

Capstone Courses

These projects encourage students to think critically, solve problems, and develop new skills. You'll work on two-semester team projects sponsored by one industry on contemporary questions that are complex, often ill-defined and hard to tackle. They produce an initial design solution, write a journal-quality technical paper, present their projects to the faculty, and compete in national senior design competitions, where past students have found great success.
